Vala Mal Doran and the Accidental Opening of the War
Vala Mal Doran helped reveal the Milky Way to the Ori through an accident of Ancient technology. While exploring the chamber beneath Glastonbury, Vala and Daniel Jackson activated communication stones that transferred their consciousness into the bodies of Harrid and Sallis, a married couple living in the Ori galaxy. This episode follows their discovery of Origin, the authority of the Priors, and a society in which religious dissent could be answered with public execution. Their presence exposed a fact the Ancients had concealed: another galaxy contained vast populations of humans who did not worship the Ori. Daniel’s attempt to explain the deception behind Origin gave the Ori both a new enemy and an immense field of potential believers. Vala survived death and revival, later returning pregnant with the child who would become Adria. What began as an archaeological investigation therefore opened the second galactic war, not by moving an army, but by allowing two hidden civilizations to become aware of each other.
