Anubis: Ancient Knowledge in a Goa’uld War
Anubis returned to Goa’uld politics carrying knowledge no System Lord should have possessed. Once a particularly brutal Goa’uld, he deceived Oma Desala into helping him ascend, then was forced by the other Ascended beings into an incomplete return that left him neither fully mortal nor free to use unlimited higher knowledge. This episode examines how Anubis exploited that condition to transform the secret war. His vessels fielded superior shields and weapons, his laboratories produced nearly unstoppable Kull warriors, and his search for Ancient devices culminated in attacks capable of destroying entire planets or all life linked to the Stargate network. He annihilated Abydos, challenged the combined System Lords, and came close to defeating Earth before the Ancient outpost in Antarctica destroyed his fleet.
