The Battle of Asuras: Coalition Warfare Against the Replicators

The Battle of Asuras required Atlantis to build a coalition from powers that distrusted one another but feared the Asuran war machine more. Earth battlecruisers, Traveler vessels, and Wraith hives attacked a planet defended by Ancient-style ships, drone weapons, and a nanite population capable of rebuilding enormous losses. This episode examines the battle plan developed around FRAN, a human-form Replicator created to enter the Asuran network and command its nanites to converge. While the allied fleet held off Asuran warships, nanite material across the planet moved toward one location, creating a mass that eventually collapsed inward and destroyed Asuras. The operation succeeded through technical insight and coordinated pressure rather than simple bombardment. It also depended on temporary partners whose long-term goals remained incompatible. The Wraith wanted a rival exterminated, the Travelers wanted survival, and Atlantis wanted to end attacks on human worlds. Coalition warfare won the battle without creating a stable postwar order in Pegasus. Visit ImaginedBattlefield.com for more military and science fiction.
