The Battle Over Earth: Two Ha’taks Against SG-1
Earth’s first space battle was fought without a fleet of its own. Two Ha’tak motherships commanded by Apophis and Klorel entered the solar system carrying Jaffa, death gliders, and enough firepower to overwhelm every conventional defense. This episode reconstructs SG-1’s sabotage mission aboard the invasion force, Bra’tac’s intervention, and the desperate effort to destroy both vessels before they opened fire on the planet. With no realistic means of defeating the ships from outside, the team planted explosives near critical systems and used the proximity of the two motherships to magnify the destruction. Their escape aboard death gliders came only moments before the chain reaction eliminated the attacking force. The victory preserved the secrecy of the Stargate program and broke Apophis’s immediate military power, but it also revealed Earth’s strategic weakness.
