The Doci stands at the summit of the Ori’s human hierarchy, serving as chief interpreter, ceremonial leader, and living mouthpiece for ascended beings who rarely address their followers directly. This episode examines the chain of command linking the Ori to the armies and populations acting in their name. Through the Doci, the Ori issue doctrine and strategic direction; beneath him, Priors convert worlds, supervise worship, and enforce obedience. Military commanders organize fleets and occupation forces, while local rulers and believers provide recruits, supplies, and administration. Adria, the Orici, later combines several of these roles as a divinely engineered commander with direct access to Ori knowledge and power. The structure appears religious, but it functions as an integrated imperial command system.
