The Free Jaffa Uprising and the Capture of Dakara
The capture of Dakara transformed the Jaffa rebellion from a dispersed insurgency into a revolution holding sacred ground. Dakara was central to Jaffa history, remembered as the place where the Goa’uld first imposed symbiote implantation and bound generations of warriors to false gods. This episode examines how Teal’c, Bra’tac, and rebel forces seized the world while the System Lords were weakened by Anubis, Ba’al, and the expanding Replicator offensive. Holding Dakara gave the Free Jaffa a political center, a rallying symbol, and control of an Ancient device whose true purpose reached far beyond religion. Victory did not produce immediate unity. Rebel factions disagreed over leadership, loyalty to former masters, and the future structure of Jaffa government. Nor was the planet secure: Ba’al’s forces and the Replicators both had reasons to take it. Even so, the flag raised at Dakara announced that the Jaffa were no longer merely defectors serving other powers. They were claiming their own history and territory.
