The Genii Assault on Atlantis
The Genii assault on Atlantis used weather, deception, and divided command to place a small attacking force inside the city. As a massive storm approached, most expedition personnel evacuated to the planet Manaria while a reduced group remained to protect Atlantis and manage the city’s failing defenses. Commander Kolya exploited the evacuation, seized the gate room, and took Elizabeth Weir and Rodney McKay hostage. This episode reconstructs the occupation and John Sheppard’s counterattack through corridors, transporter chambers, and control systems he understood better than the invaders. Kolya sought weapons, explosives, and control of Ancient technology, but the storm imposed its own deadline. McKay and Weir had to route lightning through the city’s grounding stations so the shield could protect Atlantis from destruction. Sheppard’s resistance disrupted Genii command long enough for that plan to work. The assault failed, but it proved that Atlantis could be captured through intelligence and timing even without a Wraith fleet. Visit ImaginedBattlefield.com for more military and science fiction.
