The Ori Occupation of Chulak
The Ori occupation of Chulak struck at one of the most important worlds in Jaffa history. Once a fortress of Apophis and later a center of resistance, Chulak symbolized both enslavement under the Goa’uld and the movement that challenged their rule. This episode examines how Ori forces seized the planet after the allied defeat at P3Y-229, using superior warships, ground troops, and religious authority to overwhelm local defense. Teal’c and Bra’tac returned to organize resistance, but courage could not erase the occupiers’ technological advantage. Chulak’s fall showed that the Ori understood the symbolic value of conquest. Capturing a famous Jaffa world weakened morale, provided a base for further operations, and demonstrated that liberation from one empire offered no protection from another. The occupation also forced Free Jaffa leaders to confront a bitter reality: their newly won nation lacked the fleet strength and political unity needed to defend every world claiming freedom.
